Interactive digital security planning makes connections between measures editable
What an interactive planning environment changes compared with document storage: five possibilities from site planning to reuse – and their limits.
Updated: · MOVETOS
It makes it possible to record, edit and link event areas, security measures, technical infrastructure and organisational responsibilities within a shared planning environment.
What “interactive” changes compared with document storage
The key difference from a classic digital document store is that planning information is not only stored but can be changed directly and viewed in its context.
An example: relocating an entrance
Relocating an event entrance can affect visitor flows, barriers, checkpoints or the positioning of technical security systems. A suitable digital planning environment can make such connections visible and make it easier to work on the measures affected.
Five possibilities
Several possibilities follow from this:
- Interactive site planning: position and change event areas, routes and security infrastructure digitally.
- Comparing variants: set different layouts or measure concepts side by side.
- Linked information: assign measures, responsibilities and planning documents to the relevant areas.
- Traceable changes: document changes and provide updated planning versions.
- Reusable foundations: take over and develop existing planning data for recurring events.
Limits
Which of these functions are actually available depends on the software used. An interactive display also does not replace any professional review of the security measures that is required.
Conclusion
The added value of interactive digital security planning lies not only in digitising existing documents, but in being able to work on planning variants and their connections more efficiently and to prepare decisions on a shared information basis.
