Frequently asked questions.
Short answers to what event organisers, companies and operators of critical infrastructure ask us most often.
MOVETOS and the ecosystem
What is the MOVETOS digital security ecosystem?
The ecosystem is MOVETOS OPS: the platform that connects our mobile safety technology – masts, BDS units, interrupt boxes for rides and stages –, your existing systems, partners and service into one system. From one interface: live picture, warnings, announcements, team and complete records.
Do I need power or internet on site?
No. The masts power themselves and transmit video and audio over their own radio links. Announcements work without internet.
What is the visitor announcement system (BDS)?
A mobile loudspeaker column, self-powered and radio-controlled. Several BDS units can be addressed individually or as a group from one place – for example to inform thousands of visitors at once when a storm approaches.
Which equipment do I need – SET or BDS?
For larger areas with a live picture, the MOVETOS SET: masts with camera, lighting and loudspeaker and the mobile control room (OCC). If it is mainly about emergency communication, BDS units with the compact control unit (EAP) are enough. Both can be combined.
What site sizes is MOVETOS suitable for?
From a single square to an entire city centre. MOVETOS OPS plans how many masts you need from your site plan.
MOVETOS OPS
What is MOVETOS OPS?
The MOVETOS platform for three jobs: planning safety equipment, connecting and controlling it, and managing safety on site – with live picture, warnings, announcements, team messages and records in one interface, for control room, laptop and phone.
Can I plan my event myself?
Yes. Via “Plan your event” you book a short meeting, we set up your access, and you plan yourself. Agencies and safety planners plan for their clients the same way.
What information do I need for planning?
Location and area – ideally your site plan as a PDF –, dates, expected visitor numbers, entrances and stages. You add everything else step by step.
Can I use MOVETOS OPS without MOVETOS equipment?
Yes. MOVETOS OPS is also available as a service (SaaS) for your existing cameras and loudspeakers. Further third-party systems on request.
Does MOVETOS OPS write my safety concept?
No – it provides one building block. Your planning produces the technical plan as a PDF with site plan, equipment, emergency exits and evacuation; exit widths are checked against German venue regulations. You or your safety planner write the safety concept itself, and approval rests with the authority.
Do I need IT skills?
No. Set-up guides you step by step, and the interface avoids jargon.
How does MOVETOS OPS get onto my team’s phones?
Via invitation link or QR code – in the browser or as an app on the home screen, no app store.
Does MOVETOS OPS record video?
No. The platform measures how dense an area is and does not record video. When there is a warning, an evidence photo is stored and deleted three months after the event.
Does MOVETOS OPS trigger announcements by itself?
Not by default. The system suggests, a person approves: when there is a warning, MOVETOS OPS prepares the right announcement and your team decides with “Play” or “Not needed”.
Does MOVETOS OPS work without internet or mobile network?
On site, yes, with a local server – for example in the mobile control room: live picture, warnings and announcements in five languages keep running on site. If the mobile network is overloaded, the control room reaches its team over the local network. Planning needs internet.
How does MOVETOS OPS document the event?
During operations MOVETOS OPS logs warnings, approvals, announcements and reports with time and evidence in the operations log. The final report is created automatically as a PDF – with overall verdict, assessment and recommendations, density over time, warnings with response times and announcements; raw data comes as Excel. It can already be downloaded while operations are running. Everything goes into a log in which every entry secures the previous one with a checksum; changes are appended, never overwritten. Every report gets a checksum and a timestamp from an independent service – whoever receives it can check on the MOVETOS OPS verification page that it is unchanged.
Does MOVETOS OPS plan parking too?
Yes. You draw the parking area, MOVETOS OPS lays out spaces, ring road and access points and shows how many cars fit, whether it is enough and whether traffic backs up onto the road. New: during operation MOVETOS OPS shows occupancy live.
Can I connect MOVETOS OPS to my existing control centre?
Yes. The live picture ran, for example, in the Tyrol control centre (UCI Cycling Worlds) and in the security control centre at Munich Airport.
Can MOVETOS also provide a mobile control room?
Yes. The MOVETOS SET includes the mobile control room (OCC) with its own infrastructure. Where only BDS units are used, the compact control unit (EAP) takes over this role.
